Why Should Companies Care about IoT Services?

The world of IoT is expanding at an exponential rate. No longer are we confined to the commonplace gadgets of Bluetooth phones, televisions and gaming devices, IoT has been assisting the livelihood of cow ranchers as well!
Yes, you heard us right. From Amsterdam, Netherlands comes a special monitoring system invented by the company named Connecterra. The application, known as IDA (Intelligent Dairy Farmer’s Assistant) linked to cow collars that are attached to herding animals and communicates updates effectively to farmers. Talk about smart farming!
Such updates include the detected behavior of cows via motion sensors, identifying diseased animals or other worrying signs of irregular behavior. The best part about the program is that farm owners are contacted via the MessageBird SMS system that connects most people from around the world, regardless whether the farmer is living in the outskirts of a major city or a rural region with limited connectivity.
These updates can then be followed up by ranchers through a series of suggested actionable sequences. If the cow is assessed as being ill, ranchers can easily locate and swiftly administer antibiotics to the animal. With the use of GPS, injured and missing animals can be easily located and segregated from further harm.
This application sounds amazing and has been proven by farmers around the world who have benefitted from the system. Bles Diaries, a leading company in the production of dairy products with over 25 years of experience in the field, has reported a sharp increase in productivity from the use of the IDA app.
In many parts of the world, cow health has been markedly improved, reducing the need for antibiotics for animals fitted with the collar as they are effectively monitored and kept healthy daily. Sick animals have been reported to recover faster with quicker response rates.
Traditionally, ranchers will have to keep a round-the-clock watch over their animals but with the innovative IDA application, they can go to sleep without worry as IoT works its magic.
IoT has begun to affect the mechanics of agriculture, a major player in global trade and commerce. With cloud systems and the far reach of IoT, every nation from each country will soon engage in the pooling of data to progress humanity as a whole, not to mention the accelerated learning from your neighbor.
